About Us
CWS Construction was founded in 2021 by Cory Sinclair alongside wife Victoria.
Both from farming backgrounds, Cory grew up in Oamaru before moving to Ashburton in 2012 to begin his building apprenticeship. Whereas Ashburton has always been home for Victoria who grew up on a farm in Mt. Somers and now works as an accountant.
In 2020 Cory & Victoria purchased a lifestyle property on the outskirts of Ashburton where they built their own home over evenings and weekends. At the time Cory’s parents also decided to build a house, so Cory would travel to Oamaru to build his parents home leaving early Monday morning and returning home Thursday evenings to begin work in his own home. They say it was a busy time and absolutely worth it. “We are not afraid of hard work, you just get on with it and get the job done”, values that have been installed in both of them from a young age.
Having designed and built their own home Cory and Victoria understand homeowners desire to create ‘their dream home’ they say “it’s what we have, and what we want for our clients”.
Cory and Victoria married in 2022 before welcoming their daughter Lucy in 2023. Now a family of four (including their small dog Molly), life is busy, but they love it.
In their spare time they love to get outdoors enjoying the fresh air, spending time with friends and family, boating, waterskiing and even helping on the family farms when needed.

Face-to-Face Meeting
During our in-person meeting, we will delve deeper into your project. We will listen carefully to your lifestyle needs and aspirations, which helps us create a tailored approach for your build. Feel free to bring any sketches or ideas you have, as this will facilitate a productive discussion.
Step 4
Initial Concept Plans and Estimate
Following our meeting, we will develop initial concept plans and provide an estimate based on your requirements. This step is essential for visualizing your project and understanding the potential costs involved.
Step 5
Preliminary Plans for Approval
Once the initial concepts are refined, we will present preliminary plans for your approval. This ensures that we are on the right track before moving forward, allowing you to make any necessary adjustments.
Step 6
Final Scope of Works and Quote Presentation
After your approval, we will finalize the scope of works and present a detailed quote. This comprehensive overview will outline all aspects of the project, ensuring transparency and clarity regarding costs.
Step 7
Contract Agreement and Signing
Upon acceptance of the quote, we will formalize the agreement by signing the contract. This step solidifies our commitment to your project and sets the stage for the next phases of construction. As part of our NZCB membership we use the NZCB contracts which are industry leading, the home owner can also opt to apply for a halo 10 year guarantee. A Halo 10-Year Residential Guarantee (Halo Guarantee) protects you after the building process, and for the next 10 years.
Step 8
Plans Submitted for Consent
Finally, we will submit the approved plans for council consent. This step is critical to ensure that all legal requirements are met before we commence construction, providing you with peace of mind as we move forward.
