About us

Hi I’m Cory, the proud owner of CWS Construction, where we specialize in turning your dreams into reality through quality building. My journey began as an apprentice right after school in 2011, where I honed my skills to becoming a qualified builder and foreman. In 2021, after building my own home with my wife Victoria, I took the leap to start my own company, driven by a passion to create spaces that families can cherish for years to come.

Living in Ashburton, I understand the unique needs of our community, from families to young professionals & retirees. I’ve completed over 100 projects, focusing on new builds, renovations, and transportable homes, always with a commitment to listening to my clients’ visions and ensuring their lifestyles are at the heart of every project.

What sets us apart is our meticulous approach to quality. We utilize a 287-point quality control checklist and maintain open communication through weekly updates and on-site catch-ups.     We contracted CWS construction to build our Passive House in 2022. Passive House construction was new to us, and to CWS, but that didn't hold things back. Cory was great at suggesting ideas, or finding solutions to problems, and the build ran exceptionally smoothly. I wanted to pitch in and be involved in many aspects of the construction work, which I can imagine would be a nightmare for many builders, but this was no problem for Cory who was very accomodating, if perhaps a little bemused by some of my DIY skills and ideas. Cory has a great team who work hard and get the job done with no mucking around. After the Covid nonsense earlier in the year, with all the supply shortages etc we had concerns this might affect us, but Cory had build materials all sorted, arriving on site and on time, without a single delay.
